Vision

“Growing Māori Leaders through Rugby”

This vision supports the desire to have Māori developing as leaders through sport and achieving their potential. It orientates the council towards engaging with Manawhenua, Whānau and Stakeholders within the Waitaha Rohe for the betterment of Waitaha Whānau.

Mission Statement

Canterbury Māori Rugby “Waitaha” is committed to providing a representative pathway for Māori, in an environment that is well organised and successful, whilst maintaining the values of Tikanga. This mission statement gives clarity to the aspirations and desires of our whānau.

Purpose

The Waitaha environment will be one immersed in Tikanga Māori. This is critical to the development of identity and confidence of our whānau, rangatahi/pakeke/kaumatua. The goal is to support a pathway to higher achievement and participation and reaching one’s fullest potential.
